Two Top 10 Finishes for LPGA Players with Orange Volvik Balls
Two Top 10 Finishes for Players with Orange Volvik Golf Balls This Week on LPGA Tour
LPGA Tour players playing Orange Volvik golf balls earned two Top 10 finishes and over $74,168 in prize money this weekend at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship held in Incheon, Korea.
Chella Choi and Mi Hyang Lee both performed admirably in their home country of South Korea, finishing T9th and shooting a 10 below par 278. Both players are playing the Orange S3 golf ball and represent the only two wins in LPGA Tour history by Orange golf balls.
The Top 10 finish was the 4th for Choi this season and includes a win at the Marathon Classic and a pair of Top 5 finishes. She ranks 3rd on the LPGA Tour in driving accuracy with 81.73%, an increase of 7% over her 2012 accuracy numbers. The S3 golf ball has tested as the straightest tour premium golf ball on the market due to its extremely low diver spin that reduces side spin on miss-hits.
The Top 10 was the 4th of the season for Lee, a first time LPGA Tour winner last year with her signature Orange S3 golf ball. Both Choi and Lee are rising starts on the LPGA Tour with wins under their belts at the age of 25 and 22 years old respectively.
“Continued success on the LPGA Tour with different color golf balls has really driven our brand to new heights,” said Volvik USA National Director of Sales and Marketing Jon Claffey. “Orange has been our best seller across the board since we started Volvik USA and we suspect it’s because we are the only ones putting a focus on an Orange tour quality ball that can rival the performance of the other white golf balls the competition has out there. What’s great about the LPGA Tour is that is more relatable to the golfing masses in terms of swing speed and compression. People know just how good these LPGA Tour players are and that they would only use a ball that is best for their game. That’s why men and women alike are flocking to try out the benefits of a Volvik color golf ball.”
In 2015, LPGA Tour players using Volvik golf balls continue to lead Volvik to increased on-air visibility with their bright colors with 1 victory, 10 Top 5's, 18 Top 10's and 41 Top 25's after 26 events. More than 17.2 million viewers tuned in to the LPGA Tour on Golf Channel and NBC in 2014.
Volvik now has four staff players in Top 31 in the Race to the CME Globe standings playing three different color golf balls: #18 Chella Choi (Orange), #24 Ilhee Lee (Yellow) #25 Mi Hyang Lee (Orange) and #31 Phatlum (Pink).
The Race to the CME Globe is the season-long competition that pays out the player who has accumulated the most points with $1 million after the CME Group Tour Championship Nov. 19-22.
The LPGA Tour continues its seven event international swing this week in Taiwan before stops in China, Japan and Mexico.
