Volvik's Master Play with Craig Stadler Featured in Golf Digest Stix

Brand Exposure During tour events is primary reason companies pay players to use their products. The value of that spotlight is multiplied when it comes to the Masters. That partially explains the recent two-year agreement between Volvik and 1982 Masters champion Craig Stadler. Stadler’s spot in the field this week at Augusta National wasn’t Volvik’s only motivation (as was the case in 2005, when Nike signed former champions Tommy Aaron, Charles Coody, Ray Floyd and Sandy Lyle just before the tournament to help win the iron count). But there’s no denying being able to tout its product as being in play at the year’s first major played a role. “Signing Stads and having him play the Vista iV at the Masters is our coming-out party,” Said Jon Claffey, national director of sales and marketing for Volvik. “Craig will play a Green Volvik golf ball at the Par-3 Contest and bring us a lot of exposure.”- E.
