Volvik Staff Players Phatlum and Petrovic Earn Top 10's on Tour This Week
Two Top 10 finishes were earned by Volvik staff professionals this weekend on the LPGA Tour and Web.com Tour.
Volvik staff professional Pornanong Phatlum from Thailand shared the lead at the LPGA Founders Cup in the final round Sunday and ended up with a T7 finish. Her seven birdies on Sunday led her to a -17 under par finish, just two shots off the eventual winner. Volvik staff player Chella Choi finished T22 at the event. Choi currently ranks 9th on the 2014 LPGA money list and Phatlum ranks 12th.
In just five events so far on the 2014 LPGA Tour, Volvik already has two Top 5 finishes, three Top 10 finishes and six Top 25 finishes.
"Pornanong, or as we like to call her by her nickname Waen, played very well again this week and once again brought a ton of exposure to Volvik on the Golf Channel coverage," said President of Volvik USA Don Shin. "Her Pink golf ball could easily be seen all day Sunday and it was good to see that our marketing strategy is once again paying off and letting golfers know that ultra-high performance and color are now available in the same package."
On the Web.com Tour, Volvik staff professional Tim Petrovic finished T8 at the Panama Claro Championship using Volvik's new White Color S3 golf ball Sunday. Petrovic shot a 71-67-68-69 to -5 under par and earned $18,125 in the process. He currently ranks 43rd on the Web.com Tour money list.
The White Color S3 ships to golf retailers in April. The white/blue hybrid ball already has two wins on the Ladies European Tour and two Top 5 finishes on the 2014 LPGA Tour. Petrovic won the 2005 Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA TOUR.
