Volvik Staffer Erik Flores 2nd In Driving Distance On Web.com Tour

Volvik Player Erik Flores 2nd In Driving Distance This Week On Web.com Tour
Volvik staff player Erik Flores ranked 2nd in driving distance and had the 6th longest drive of the Web.com Tour event this week with a 317 yard drive at the Price Cutter Charity Classic. Flores has routinely hit the longest drives of Web.com Tour events this season, up to 358 yards, with his Orange Volvik Vista four-piece golf ball.

Flores averaged 301.1 yards for the event and ranks 11th on the Web.com Tour in 2013 with a 310.5 average.

"We have been seeing distance gains like what Erik has been experiencing with a lot of the players who have tested our golf balls," said National Director of Sales and Marketing Jon Claffey. "Don't the color fool you, these balls can be significantly longer for faster swing speed players looking for added distance. Our solid inner core is really giving us a greater energy transfer and some very good players are seeing up to 20 yards in distance gain in some cases."

Flores also ranks 11th in Putts Per Round, 12th in Eagles Per Hole and 5th in scoring average before cut on the Web.com Tour in 2013. He has made three consecutive cuts on the Web.com Tour and has made six out of 10 cuts on the season.

Flores, a three time NCAA All-American at UCLA, played his first fully exempt season on the Web.com Tour in 2012 and finished the season with one Top 10, two Top 25 finishes and a 5th place finish at the News Sentinel Open. This year, Flores earned his way back on the Web.com Tour via the reshuffle process with his solid play and long drives.

"I did extensive testing with the golf ball and I found it to be an extremely high performance golf ball that does everything I need it to do," said Flores." I enjoy the strong flight of the ball and the heavier feel off the club face due to the solid core of the ball, as opposed to the soft core of other golf balls. This also adds more control to my approach shots."

"I am excited to be a part a company that is bold in their use of new materials and is not afraid to break the paradigm of the white golf ball," said Flores. "Finally a golf ball that contributes to my game and my style."

Flores was a four-time 1st Team All Pac-10 recipient, the first UCLA Bruin to accomplish this feat, and was also the 2006 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and a member of 2008 NCAA Championship team. His junior golf career included two- AJGA All-American, FCWT All-American nominations and he was a five time AJGA and FCWT Tournament Champion.
