Volvik Adds New LPGA staffer Julie Yang

Team Volvik Adds new LPGA staff player Julie Yang

Volvik, the #1 Color Golf Ball on Tour, recently signed LPGA Tour player Julie Yang.

Yang, Oklahoma State University alum, has played in 33 LPGA Tour events since she turned professional in 2015. Yang earned $116,785 in the process to finish 93rd on the final LPGA Tour money list. She ranked 2nd on the LPGA Tour last season in putting average with an amazing 28.6 putts per round average. She also recorded her career-best finish last season with a T6 finish at Coates Golf Championship

Yang is playing Volvik’s S3 3-piece 95-compression golf ball, one of the most played models on the LPGA Tour. Yang joins a team of 10 other players already playing Volvik golf balls on the 2017 LPGA Tour, making Volvik one of the most played golf ball brands on the tour.

On the LPGA Tour, where Volvik has ranked as high as the #2 most played brand, Volvik has made moves to have five full-status players under contract, including LPGA Tour winners Chella Choi, Mi Hyang Lee, Ilhee Lee, Jennifer Johnson and perennial Top 25 player Pornanong Phatlum. Also playing in LPGA Tour events in 2017 will be Volvik staff players Casey Grice, Christine Song and Stephanie Kono.

Volvik is the official golf ball of the Symetra Tour and the sponsor of the Volvik Race for the Card in which 10 players earn their LPGA Tour cards annually. Numerous professionals play Volvik on the Symetra Tour, the long-standing developmental tour of the LPGA tour which begins this week.

Along with signing PGA TOUR star and #10 golfer in the world Bubba Watson to start 2017, Volvik has also made several additions to their professional tour staff for 2017 and beyond. On the Champions Tour, Tim Petrovic will play in his first full year on the tour after joining late in the season last year after turning 50 in August. He earned two Top 25 finishes in six events last year. Volvik is also extending terms with Masters champion Craig Stadler to stay on with Team Volvik for 2017. John Huston is looking to return from injury in 2017 on the Champions Tour playing Volvik. He ranked as one of the longest in driving distance in his first year playing Volvik before an injury sidelined him. He is planning to return to the tour in March after leaving last season with a neck injury.

Volvik became the official golf ball of World Long Drive in 2016 and has now signed two-time WLD champion Tim Burke and has retained two-time European Long Drive Maurice Allen to their professional staff.
