AN LPGA QUALIFIER'S PALLETTE
COLOR OF MONEY

LPGA Tour Q School is a notorious pressure cooker. Golfer Victoria Elizabeth (pictured on our cover) found one way to lighten the tension: different colored balls. She picked a yellow Volvik Vista iV for day one, pink for day two, green for day three and orange for the final two rounds, which concluded last week.  She finished T-13 to earn a 2014 card.  The move wasn't totally out of place for Elizabeth, who often used a different color each round on the Symetra Tour.  Elizabeth's new status should elevate Volvik's presence in 2014. In 2013, it reported 195 instances of LPGA pros using its golf balls in tournament play: 77 orange, 71 yellow, 44 pink and 3 green. -- E. Michael Johnson
