Volvik Staff Player Ilhee Lee Wins On LPGA Tour with Yellow Vista Golf Ball
The always smiling 24-year-old Lee battled wind and rain on the Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island to finish at 11 under par in only 36 holes. This is her third year on the LPGA Tour.
"The Volvik golf ball has always been very good in the wind," said Lee, whose previous best finish on the LPGA Tour was T3 earlier this year at the Kingsmill Championship.
"I was thinking four under for the day," she said. "I saw the wind blowing super hard and I changed my goal - maybe even par. And then I birdied the first hole, the second hole, the third hole. After the third hole I was thinking, maybe this is the day to win.'"
Lee was three shots off of the lead going into the final round, while another Volvik staff player Lindsey Wright was in 2nd place headed into the final round . Lee started off with a 30-foot birdie putt from just off the green, and then chipped in from 60 feet for birdie on her second hole. She then hit a 5-iron for her third shot on her third hole on the par five to 10 feet for another birdie that gave her a share of the lead. She held on to make an all-important par saving putt on her eighth hole and finished the 18th hole with a birdie after an incredible approach shot through the heavy wind.
"I can't believe it right now," Lee said."It feels amazing. Awesome."
With Lee's victory, three Volvik staff players playing three different colored golf balls currently rank in the Top 25 on the official LPGA Tour money list, including #12 Ilhee Lee (Yellow Vista), #14 Pornanong Phatlum (Pink Vista), #25 Chella Choi (Orange Vista).

We are so happy and proud for her first career victory on the LPGA Tour. She is only 24-years-old and we are very excited about what the future holds for Ilhee and Volvik."
